About the Provider

Dr. Samuels joined the University of Miami faculty in 2016 and both his clinic and research interests focus on the treatment of head and neck cancer and breast cancer. He went to college at Columbia University in New York. He matriculated to the University of Miami Miller school of Medicine in 2003. He completed his PhD in 2009 in the Neuroscience Program in the department of Physiology and Biophyics, studying membrane channels on glial cells and the innate immune response to CNS injury. He completed his MD in 2011. He completed his internship and Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach in 2012 and then went to the University of Michigan for residency in Radiation Oncology. There, he was mentored by Avraham Eisbruch MD, FASTRO, a world expert in head and neck cancer. He was chief resident in 2015-2016. He is proficient in state of the art radiation therapy techniques including Proton therapy, MRI-guided radiation therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and intensity modulated radiation therapy. His research interests focus on patient reported outcomes, late radiation toxicities and radiation-induced fibrosis. He is married 19 years to his wife Ilanit, and they have 3 children.
