About the Provider
Dr. David Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is a faculty member of the Department of Surgery, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Zhang received his medical degree from McGill University and completed residency training in general surgery at the University of Toronto. During the course of his residency he obtained a master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research as part of the Surgeon-Scientist Training Program at the University of Toronto He then completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Dr. Zhang has published several peer-reviewed articles and has presented at national and international surgical meetings. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. His research interests include perioperative pain control, intra-abdominal adhesions and the application of artificial intelligence in surgery.
